Our students write novels, stories, poetry, monologues, as well as explore creativity in non-fiction, essays, journalism, reviewing and writing for the theatre.
This should include your personal details with a history of your education and employment to date. An explanation of the creative project may also be included with the application. By choosing an exit award, you will finish your degree at the end of the second semester of study and receive a PGDip instead of an MLitt. Careers Graduates of the course have gone on to become published writers or pursue careers in a range of sectors including journalism, marketing, publishing and teaching. Modules The modules in this programme have varying methods of delivery and assessment. In celebrating the written word, individuality is always honoured above conformity, which is the only way an artist can find or develop a unique voice.

Professor Kirsty Gunn Humanities k. All applicants should submit a piece of their creative writing – a poem or short piece of prose no more than three pages. The modules in this programme have varying methods of delivery and assessment.
This alone, makes our programme distinctive and individual and the very opposite of a large, more anonymous school. At the discretion of staff, this requirement may occasionally be waived for candidates who demonstrate exceptional talent in their creative submission. MLitt Writing Practice & Study
Individual Visits take place almost every month. This programme is varied in delivery and content, comprising four-hour writing workshops to seminars to individual tutorials, helping you to develop practical, intelligent and highly creative methods by which you can approach your writing.

Dubdee, bespoke and highly creative, our distinctive writing programme at the University of Dundee has been praised by writers and teachers from across Scotland and around the world.
The skills I learnt during this course have been instrumental in securing my current job in marketing and communications. The course consists of two semesters with taught components followed by an individual creative writing project taking place over the whole year, but with creatige focus during the last three months.
